This interactive workshop hosted by Weightmans
will give participants a three dimensional insight into the legal,
practical and personal aspects of organisational change and in
particular restructuring projects.
The workshop will include:
- The legal framework within which restructures take place,
highlighting recent case law which will illustrate the consequences
of failing to follow robust procedures.
- The practical aspects of managing change and the importance of
ensuring effective leadership, transparency and communications
within the workplace.
- The personal impact of change and examples of the support
mechanisms available to ensure individuals react positively to
evolving career and lifestyle opportunities.
Speakers
The event will be hosted by Mark
Leach (Partner - Weightmans Manchester Office) who
will conduct the first session giving participants the latest
information on recent case law and will give invaluable pointers
towards ensuring compliance with the legal obligations associated
with restructures and downsizing.
Mick Whiteley Fellow CIPD
(Director - Avirtual HR Limited) has extensive experience in
supporting a variety of both public and private sector
organisations with major change management and restructuring
projects and is ideally placed to provide practical support and
advice on the essential ingredients of an effective change
management process and avoiding the unintended consequences of poor
leadership, planning, communication and execution.
Dr Peter Hawkins (Director
Windmills) is an international expert on career and life management
With a PHD in Industrial Management and a author of several books,
Peter has been mentored by inspirational leaders such as Charles
Handy and over the last 20 years has lectured across the world. A
co-founder of Windmills Ltd, he has advised government ministers,
educational establishments, business and community based
organisations across the world.
During and after lunch the speakers and other
members of the Weightmans employment team will be on hand to
provide informal advice and further information regarding the
support available from all the organisations involved with today’s
seminar.
Registration is at 9.00am and the seminar will
commence at 9.30am, and conclude at 12.30pm with a networking
lunch.
