Large Loss Conference 2011

Venue: Holiday Inn, Birmingham City Centre

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

We will be hosting our third annual Large Loss Conference in Birmingham on Tuesday 11 October.

Catastrophic injuries continue to concern the industry as a whole as costs continue to spiral. The conference will focus on emerging strategies in large loss litigation, including the following themes:

  • Challenges facing the catastrophic lawyer from a claimant’s perspective
  • A defendant insurer’s view of issues and challenges ahead
  • The cost of fraudulent and exaggerated claims and the means of combating such claims
  • The increasing trend in chronic pain claims and strategies to address such claims
  • The spiralling costs of care: the controversial issues debated

We are delighted to be joined by eminent guest speakers including Hugh Potter, Partner at Potter Rees & Co, David Southwell, UK GI Personal Injury Claims Manager at Zurich Insurance, Tessa Gough from Tessa Gough & Associates and Kate Russell from Care & Case Management UK, whose topics we hope will spark some lively debate.

Weightmans’ Large Loss and Technical Claims team, now a market leader in this field and one of the largest in the UK, continue to provide strategic advice to deal with these claims in an innovative, effective and commercial way. Our team of specialist solicitors focus both on motor and liability claims.
