The recent publication of the Government's
Response to the ‘Solving Disputes’ consultation is the latest piece
in the reform jigsaw. Although the statement of intent to extend
the RTA PI Scheme and increase the operation of fixed fees is
welcome, the Response is lacking in detail on next steps, although
a consultation process will apparently follow. The recent No 10
summit between David Cameron and insurers has confirmed the
Government's intention to press ahead with this reform.
Weightmans will be hosting roundtable seminars
to discuss these latest developments as part of our ongoing
programme of engaging with clients to help understand the raft of
activity underway and in particular address the issues likely to be
covered in the next consultation exercise.
