Weightmans appoints new costs draftsmen team to support expansion
Weightmans law firm is expanding its costs team with the
appointment of two costs negotiators from GAB Robins and
Beachcrofts.
The appointments of Chris Child and Amy
Skidmore follow the April hire of partner Howard Dean to lead the
firm’s specialist insurance costs unit in Birmingham.
Chris Child joins from GAB Robins where he was
a Senior Claims Technician and Amy from Beachcroft where she was a
Litigation Executive in the Costs Unit.
Howard commented: “I am delighted to welcome
Chris and Amy to the team as we continue to expand our service
offering. We remain committed to realising our goal of being
recognised nationally as the best costs lawyers by 2011.
“We now offer specialist costs negotiation,
consultancy and advocacy services in relation to funding litigation
for clients across the private and public sector.”
The firm has offered costs litigation services
since 2005, and since then the department has grown to include
clients from the commercial, public and insurance sectors under the
guidance of the firm’s Head of Costs, Rob Williams.

such talented individuals have decided to join us. Opening in
Birmingham was a response to a growing demand for a specialist
costs service in the region, but we are also expanding right across
the country and now offer our services to a wide range of
clients.”
