Weightmans Partner shortlisted for Asian Jewel awards
A partner at law firm Weightmans has been shortlisted as a
finalist in the Professional Excellence category at the Lloyds TSB
Asian Jewel Awards...
...Bavita Rai, head of Litigation
Operations in the Birmingham office, is one of only three finalists
in the category, and the only woman.
The Asian Jewel Awards are a national celebration of the wealth
of experience, expertise and success within the Asian community in
Britain today, with regional awards split into various categories,
such as business & commerce, professional excellence,
enterprise, and entrepreneurs.
Bavita said: "I am thrilled to have made the
shortlist for this award. I enjoy my work at Weightmans hugely and
to be recognised for it by my local Asian community is a great
feeling. Weightmans is a firm that is dedicated not just to its
national presence, but to its place in regional communities so it
is important for successes within those local communities to be
celebrated.”
Head of the Birmingham office David Tuck said:
“We are very proud of all the hard work Bavita has put in for the
firm, so for this to be recognised by the Jewel Awards is
fantastic. On behalf of the Birmingham office, I’d like to wish
Bavita the best luck for the final.”
Bavita joined Weightmans as head of Litigation Operations in
2006, and since then her wide-ranging responsibilities have
included bringing together system reforms and improvements across
all aspects of Weightmans' legal practice, with particular focus on
case management.
But Bavita will have to wait until the Midlands Asian
Jewel Award ceremony, held on 11 July in Birmingham, to see if she
is successful.
