The recent case of Vagharia –v- LPC 2006

Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 [PUWER].

(PUWER). We look at a House of
Lords judgment which serves to further reinforce the wide ranging
and onerous nature of the Regulations.
Adjusting for disability
Section 6 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 states that
employers have to take reasonable steps (or make adjustments) if
any “arrangements” they make put a disabled person at a substantial
disadvantage compared to someone who is not disabled.
We look at a
Court of Appeal case about whether employers have to make
adjustments to a job if a disabled applicant has not actually
applied for it.
