Anti social behaviour
Advising and dealing with anti-social behaviour cases for
police forces and local authorities.
As the Government continues to reinforce the
importance of
tackling
anti-social behaviour within communities, the responsibilities of
police forces and local authorities continue to grow.
The Respect agenda has promoted the view that
there are many and varied ways of tackling anti-social behaviour,
with the main objective to reduce incidents by tackling behaviour
in schools and homes. One way of tackling intransigent
problems is to resort to the court system, and this is where legal
expertise becomes a crucial factor.
Weightmans has gained substantial expertise
and experience in acting for local and police authorities in
anti-social behaviour matters. We currently have a 100% success
rate in obtaining ASBOs, ASB injunctions linked to penalties on
housing, crack house closures and other statutory measures to
combat anti-social behaviour.
As a public authority, you will benefit from
our dedicated team’s vast experience and understanding of the
public sector ethos. We provide practical and realistic advice on
your chances of success and focus on achieving the best possible
outcome in the shortest possible time. We aim to help you cope with
your workload by working with you on a supportive and co-operative
basis.
We understand particularly that funding for
local authority work on crime and anti-social behaviour ebbs and
flows. We recognise the financial pressures and we will aim to
agree realistic rates, including fixed fees, for the work we do for
you.
Weightmans is a national leader in this
increasingly important area of law. We have delivered seminars in
association with government departments, and we regularly advise on
the constant changes taking place. We run in-house training
sessions and external seminars, and two members of our team are
visiting lecturers at Anglia Ruskin University’s innovative ASBO
Management Course.
