Employers' liability

Full, expert service in defending employers' liability claims, particularly workplace, public sector and healthcare.

Employers in all sectors, and their insurers, regularly receive claims for damages as a result of alleged employer negligence. Many such claims can be successfully defended with the right experience, knowledge of the law and understanding of the complexities of the insurance business.

Weightmans' Employers' Liability team is second to none in providing defendant litigation services in this specialist area. We operate on a national basis from five offices, with dedicated workplace, public and healthcare divisions. Within these, we have separate teams covering retail, leisure, construction, security, and food and drink manufacturing.

In serving clients, our aim is simple – to understand your business and to work closely with you and your insurers in order to achieve your objectives as      cost-effectively and time-efficiently as possible.

Our services are underscored by value for money. Not only will our advice help you save costs and improve administrative efficiency, but our support services will also provide significant ancillary benefits for you and your staff.  We work closely with our other departments so that, when necessary, you receive the best advice in associated areas such as employment and health and safety.

As part of our holistic service, we help you to avoid problems and minimise claims by providing on-site surgeries and delivering in-house training and workshops. We also provide regular legal updates and newsletters to make sure you stay fully aware and informed of current risks and developments.
