Carys specialises in all areas of property damage, in particular
subrogated recoveries acting for Local Authorities, major insurers
and their insureds. She manages Weightmans dedicated subrogation
team.
Handling claims arising from fire, flood, defective workmanship,
defective products, impact damage and subsidence, Carys recently
recovered £3.5 million on behalf of a major insurer and Local
Authority in connection with a fire at a large housing
development.
Much of Carys' work relates to multi-party claims arising from
losses in construction projects. She advises in connection with
losses arising out of specified perils in standard JCT contracts
and difficulties presented by the joint insurance
clauses.
