Formerly with Mace & Jones, Charles is the Head of
Construction and Engineering at Weightmans and has a strong
reputation for advising in relation to high value, complex disputes
and in relation to a broad spectrum of transactional work within
the construction and engineering sector.
In relation to contentious matters, he acts for some of the UK’s
leading construction and engineering companies and specialist
contractors. On the transactional side, he acts for some of the
regions leading developers and has been associated with a number of
high profile projects.
He has particular expertise in complex civil and mechanical
& electrical engineering disputes involving, infrastructure,
highways, rail, marine, power generation, water, waste and
renewable energy.
In relation to transactional work, Charles advises upon all
aspects of the procurement of construction services.
In addition, Charles is also experienced in acting in relation
to disputes involving EU Procurement.
Charles adopts creative strategies to manage and resolve
disputes including mediation and expert evaluation. He has also
acted as an adjudicator of construction disputes.
Charles has a detailed knowledge of the construction industry.
His clients include some of the UK’s leading developers, banks and
large multinational construction and engineering companies. He has
also advised in relation to framework agreements for contractors
and consultants for the social housing sector and the procurement
of construction services.
Charles writes and presents training courses for clients and is
recognised and recommended in both Legal 500 and Chambers and
Partners as a leader in his field.
