Formerly with Mace & Jones, Gary qualified in 1989 with
Alsop Wilkinson in London (now DLA Piper). In 1991 returned to the
north and for four years worked at Aaron & Partners in Chester.
He moved to Mace & Jones in 1995 and became a partner in the
corporate department in 1998.
Gary offers a wide range of expertise to a varied client base
including, SMEs, large corporates, universities and the regional
venture finance holding fund North West Business Finance Limited.
He advises clients on all aspects of company commercial work,
nationally and internationally, from starting up, shareholders
agreements, terms of trading, agency and distribution, mergers and
acquisitions, MBOs, joint ventures, fund raising and AIM
flotations. By not being reliant solely on traditional mergers and
acquisitions work Gary has been kept busy throughout the
recession.
2010/2011 saw a marked upturn in deals as Gary led a number of
transactions including the reorganisation of the student union
complex for Bangor University, the investment in Fairbanks
Environmental Limited by Tokheim SAS, acting for the management in
the venture capital funded MBO of Cawood Scientific plc, advising
Boulting Group Limited on a joint venture with SNEF to build
nuclear power stations, and advising Goonhilly Earth Station
Limited on the acquisition of the Goonhilly telecommunications site
in Cornwall from BT.
