Ian is head of the corporate practice area,
having joined Weightmans in October 2007. His focus is in
providing advice to a full range of SME clients, on all aspects of
corporate work, with particular focus on acquisitions, disposals,
restructuring and refinancing.
Ian studied law at Warwick University and,
after a brief spell with Lucas Industries, qualified in 1990.
He trained with Alsop Wilkinson (now DLA Piper), was head of
corporate finance at Aaron and Partners in Chester and more
recently Hill Dickinson in Liverpool.
Ian has historically handled some of the
largest deals in the region including the sale of Norse Merchant
Group to Norfolkline. His main focus is in providing advice to
mid-sized private limited companies on acquisitions, disposals and
financing issues, but he also advises public sector clients on
infrastructure, fund raising and commercial matters.
