Ling specialises in complex insurance and reinsurance
litigation with particular focus on policy coverage disputes
and advices in the context of UK and international
business. Ling has significant experience working with
Lloyd's syndicates, London and international market companies at
both direct and reinsurance (facultative and treaty) levels
across a wide range of classes of business including property,
energy, mining, BBB, professional indemnity and product
liability. She is also experienced in disputes involving
brokers and delegated authorities. Her work also
encompasses drafting and revision of policy wordings and
underwriting guides.
Ling has represented the live insurance and reinsurance market
and the runoff market in a number of major insurance and
reinsurance matters. She has handled claims and been involved in
disputes arising from worldwide jurisdictions including North and
South America, Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.
Her previous cases include Bonner v Cox (the Aon 77 dispute),
Konkola Copper Mines v Swiss Re and Equitas v Jardine Lloyd
Thompson.
Ling is a member of the British Insurance Law Association;
London Business Interruption Association; OPERA (Oil Petrochemical
Energy Risks Association); ARC (Association of Run Off Companies);
AirSP (Association of Insurance & Reinsurance Service
Providers; LMA (Lloyd's Market Association) and the Insurance
Institute of London. She speaks regularly at seminars on key
insurance and reinsurance issues and contributes regularly to the
insurance and reinsurance press including Global Reinsurance;
Reinsurance; Fac; Post; Insurance Times; Insurance Day; Insurance
Insider; IQ and Global Insurance Bulletin.
