Ling is a partner in the London Market team based in London. She
joined in March 2008 from DLA Piper where she was a partner in the
(re)insurance team.
Ling specialises in insurance and reinsurance litigation with
particular focus on coverage disputes and advices. Her work
involves policy interpretation and advice on coverage issues, and
she has substantial experience in litigation, arbitration and
mediation. She also deals with the review and the drafting/revision
of insurance and reinsurance policies and documentation.
Ling has worked with Lloyd’s Syndicates, and the London and
international companies market at both direct and reinsurance
(facultative and treaty) levels. She has dealt with a wide range of
classes of business for insurers and reinsurers including
property/business interruption, energy, mining, financial
institutions, bankers blanket bond, professional indemnity, product
liability and jewellers’ block. She is also experienced in disputes
involving brokers and coverholders/binding authorities.
Over the last 15 years, Ling has been involved in matters
arising from worldwide jurisdictions, including North and South
America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Far East and
Australia.
Ling is a member of the Chartered Institute of Insurance,
Lloyd’s Market Association, British Insurance Law Association,
London Business Interruption Association, Oil Petrochemical Energy
Risks Association and Association of Insurance & Reinsurance
Service Providers. She speaks regularly at seminars on key
insurance and reinsurance issues and contributes regularly to the
industry press.
Apart from English, Ling is fluent in Hokkien and Bahasa
Malaysia.
