Melanie qualified as a solicitor in 1994,
previously having been a hospital doctor. She joined
Weightmans in 2001 and was made partner in 2006.
Her specialisms include high quantum birth
injury cases, deliberate self-harm cases, cervical cytology claims,
hospital acquired infection and claims generated by pathology
services in general (haematology, microbiology and histopathology)
and other high value claims settled by means of periodical
payments. This also includes claims involving multiple claimants,
consent to treatment, inquests, cases of great sensitivity and
media involvement, and the provision of training.
