Michelle qualified as a solicitor in 1992 and joined Weightmans
as a partner in February 2008.
Originally acting for claimants in professional negligence
claims, she turned from poacher to gamekeeper in 1996 when she
joined James Chapman and Co.
Since then, Michelle has specialised in defending claims against
professionals, primarily for solicitors but also for architects,
engineers, surveyors, barristers and brokers.
Michelle has dealt with a number of complex, high value claims
and also has particular expertise in acting against litigants in
person. She is known for her pragmatic approach to resolving
claims.
Michelle heads up a team of lawyers at Weightmans advising law
firms on regulatory compliance, claims and complaints handling and
risk management issues. She is also a Law Society consultant on
client care and for its risk and compliance service and a well
known speaker on the subject of risk and compliance on the legal
circuit.
