Nick has been regional office head for
Manchester since 2002. He specialises in defending public and
employers' liability cases against the police, predominantly
for the Greater Manchester, Cheshire and North Wales
forces, with operational planning and training inputs.
Several leading reported appeal cases
including Vellino v GMP and Donachie v
GMP (both duty of care), McNally v GMP
(informant disclosure post-Human Rights Act) and Wigan
Athletic Football Club v GMP (charges for special police
services).
He is ranked as a leading practitioner in
Chamber’s Directory, his 2011 entry noting a ‘stellar reputation '
for his work in this area .
