Patrick became Weightmans' managing partner in June 2003
and was re-elected for a further term of three years in January
2010. His legal specialism is professional negligence.
He has acted for SIF since 1989 and continues to do so and has
spent most of his professional life representing solicitors,
barristers and members of the medical profession. He has been
involved in several reported cases, most notably Ridehalgh
v Horsefield (1994) and Hall v
Simons.
Chambers 2007 guide says "Patrick Gaul wins the confidence of
clients and helps them through difficult process". They also
admire "his ability to smell whether a case is good or bad".
