Rob trained at Weightmans and was made a partner in 2002.
He heads the Costs practice
area which he set up in 2005. Based in Liverpool and
Birmingham this venture has grown into one of the largest teams
within private practice and acts nationally for clients who
include a wide variety of insurance companies, large self Insured
companies, assorted public sector and Government bodies
and commercial clients from across all of the Firms three
Business lines. Rob
frequently supports our Client Relationship Partners as the key
point of contact on costs matters.
He frequently speaks on the
subject of costs and works with clients on their costs
strategies in the ever changing landscape of costs,
particularly prevalent in the post Jackson era. His
other initiatives include introducing the "Think
Costs!" methodology which minimises clients exposure to
litigation costs by focusing on costs from day 1 and not
day 1000 as was traditionally the case.
This has led Rob and the team to
augment their costs services to the extent that they now routinely
act alongside other Litigation teams in Weightmans as
part of the case team whenever there is a need to control
costs exposure as part of the overall case startegy as an action
progresses from inception to its conclusion.
He also lectures externally for Lexis
Nexis Butterworths and contributes articles and comment for
insurance and costs journals on this specialist subject.
Rob's other partnership and client
responsibilities include setting up and managing one of
our volume EL and disease insurance
litigation claims.
