Roger qualified in 1972 and practised
for many years in Sussex, joining Weightmans as a partner in
2006.
At present, Roger is solely handling
claims on behalf of Sussex Police. Until recently he also did
general local authority work; he acted successfully for the highway
authority in the House of Lords case Goodes v East Sussex
County Council. Recent other important decisions are
French v Chief Constable of Sussex in the Court of
Appeal and Smith v Chief Constable of Sussex and
Ashley v Chief Constable of Sussex in the House of
Lords. He is a member of FOIL.
