Biography

Charles provides advice to insolvency practitioners helping them to recover and realise assets of the insolvent company or the bankrupt for their creditors. Charles acts for banking institutions enforcing security against both corporates and individuals.

Charles has considerable experience in relation to obtaining and enforcing freezing/proprietary injunctions, provisional liquidations and presenting winding-up petitions.

Charles has extensive experience of running a cross-practice team on pre-pack administrations, liquidation sales, LPA Receiver appointments and formal administrations.

Charles often advises directors in relation to their duties in times of distress and acts for companies in seeking restructuring solutions. He also has a wealth of experience in disputes relating to finance and insolvency.

Charles has recently acted for a metropolitan council on the acquisition of a care home business in distress under tight timescales alongside our corporate healthcare team.

Charles also works on director and officer policy instructions and works closely with our insurance colleagues.

Charles has also been instructed by the Insolvency Service in relation to progressing director disqualification proceedings and public interest winding up petitions and advised on the first compensation order application under the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986.
