Law firm completes ownership transfer of 6,000 Welsh homes

Gwynedd Council in North Wales, has transferred over 6,000 homes from its housing association to an independent organisation.

The stock was transferred to Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd Cyfynedigat (CCG), an independent not-for-profit local housing organisation.

Weightmans' Social Housing team advised Gwynedd Council on the deal- led by partner Philip Heath and his team comprising associate Laura Kearsley and trainee Sonia Hanji.

Barclays Bank PLC provided the funding for the deal, advised by Clifford Chance. Trowers and Hamlins LLP acted for CCG.
