Kearsley to face national award contest
A lawyer from the Midlands has been shortlisted for the
Assistant / Associate Solicitor of the year at the prestigious
British Legal Awards...
...making it her third award nomination
in less than two years.
Laura Kearsley, associate in the Employment team at law firm
Weightmans LLP was recently crowned Associate Solicitor of the Year
at the Birmingham Law Society awards and sailed to victory at the
Women on their Way awards in 2009, where she won the Women in Law
category.
On 2 December 2010 she will face national competition at the BLA
ceremony held at Old Billingsgate but her colleague, Weightmans’
national head of Employment Tim Lang, is confident in her chances
to take home the trophy.
“Laura, since arriving at Weightmans nearly six years ago, has
made a significant difference to the culture and positive feel of
the firm and has made a massive impact in terms of Weightmans’
standing in the Midlands legal community,” said Tim.
He went on to praise Laura for her work as Chairwoman of the
West Midlands branch of the Association of Women Solicitors.
“Despite having plenty of professional commitments Laura still
finds the time to champion female colleagues facing the traditional
difficulties of the profession. She boasts all the qualities of a
deserving candidate for this award and I wish her the best of
luck.”
