Labelled 'user friendly' by national guide
National law firm Weightmans LLP has impressed across the board
as this year’s Chambers UK guide...
...described by clients as
‘user-friendly’ and experienced.
In this independent guide to the UK’s top law
firms, Weightmans retained a top tier ranking in the Personal
Injury: Mainly Defendant category, with head of the Large Loss team
David Holt singled out for his work representing the Motor
Insurers’ Bureau at the European Court of Justice.
The firm’s police team also retained a top
tier ranking, with Martin Forshaw, head of the national Police team
noted for his ‘towering reputation’ in the field.
Weightmans’ national healthcare offering was
praised in the guide for its ‘user-friendly’ client
service while Tony Yeaman who heads up the Healthcare team was
cited as having ‘vast experience in health’ and
understanding the issues his clients faced.
In other areas the firm also received the
guide’s stamp of approval and rose from Band 3 to Band 2 for
Health, Social Care and Social Housing, Band 5 to Band 4 for Local
Government work and from having no ranking at all to Band 2 for
Healthcare; Non-Transactional.
Weightmans’ string of local authority panel
wins over the past year has also made an impression, with the firm
quoted as ‘up and coming in the local government world’ as
it rose from Band 5 to Band 4 in the national Local Government
category.
Patrick Gaul, managing partner at Weightmans,
said:
“We are very pleased with this year’s rankings
which demonstrate the strength and depth of our practice.
“While maintaining our reputation in the
insurance sector, we are increasingly recognised as a leading
adviser to the public sector and corporates across the
country.”
The Chambers UK guide came out just days after
Weightmans released a solid half year result and confirmed that it
remains on target to hit £60m turnover for the 2010 / 2011
financial year.
