Leicester's got talent

Law firm Weightmans LLP stole the show at the Leicestershire Law Society's Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony after taking home two of the four awards on offer.

At the award presentation last week, lawyers from Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland saw Associate in the Commercial Insurance team Victoria Curran awarded ‘Solicitor of the Year’ whilst her colleague trainee solicitor Joanne Harrison collected the ‘Trainee of the Year’ accolade.

Victoria and Joanne were chosen from a shortlist of entrants by a judging panel from Leicester De Montfort Law School. Shortlisted candidates were required to demonstrate involvement in interesting, challenging or new areas of the law, dedication to their clients and a commitment to professional development.

Victoria said of the result:

“Both Joanne and I are thrilled with the awards – it’s a real honour to be recognised by your peers in this way.”

Head of the Leicester office, Dave Cottam said:

“To see two of our members receive such recognition is a real testament to their hard work and dedication. Two very well deserved wins.”
