Olympics come to Birmingham for Sport Relief challenge
The Olympic Games is getting a head start this week as law firm
Weightmans LLP hosts its inaugural ‘Weightmans Olympics’ event in
aid of Sport Relief.
The event is taking place at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena
on 22 March and will see five teams of staff from the firm’s
Midlands offices compete against each other in everything from
javelin to hurdles and even the old favourite; the egg and spoon
race.
The Weightmans Olympics is organised by
paralegals Chaitali Desai, James Grinstead and Ray Hetherington
from the firm’s Birmingham office.
“The firm encourages staff to take part in
fundraising activities throughout the year but Sport Relief offers
a particularly good opportunity to do something a bit different,”
said Chaitali.
“I can’t wait to see colleagues pitting
themselves against each other. I suspect their competitive streak
might get the better of a few of them!” added James.
Ray concluded, “Hopefully the games will be
such a success that we can make it an annual event.”
