Weightmans duo nominated for prestigious legal awards

As Weightmans embarks on a new financial year two of its lawyers receive award nominations and invitations to attend the most sought after event in the legal calendar.

The Lawyer Awards are widely recognised as the industry’s crown jewel – celebrating the achievements of the country’s best lawyers at an event which brings together over a thousand solicitors in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

Large Loss partner, Elaine Chapman has picked up a nomination for Partner of the Year, whilst Laura Kearsley, from Weightmans’ Employment team has been shortlisted for Assistant Solicitor of the Year.

Of course neither are strangers to accolades of this kind. Elaine was recently recognised for her contribution to the law after judges at the Law Society 'Highly Commended' her efforts in the AWS Legal Business Woman of the Year category. She was later crowned ‘Best Woman Solicitor Managing a Medium-Sized Practice’ by the Association of Women Solicitors.

Meanwhile Laura was awarded ‘Associate Solicitor of the Year’ at the Birmingham Law Society awards and was victorious at the Women on their Way awards in 2009, where she won the Women in Law category.
