Weightmans in the running for two accolades at the 2011 British Legal Awards

National law firm Weightmans LLP has been shortlisted for two prestigious accolades at the 2011 British Legal Awards.

The fast expanding firm has been shortlisted for Regional Law Firm of the Year and Commercial Team of the Year (Employment).

Managing Partner Patrick Gaul said the nominations recognised the significant progress Weightmans has made over the last twelve months.

“We are delighted to be shortlisted in two categories at the British Legal Awards,” said Patrick. 

“We are particularly pleased that our commercial team has been shortlisted for its employment expertise.  The firm has a long standing reputation in the field of insurance law but we have also worked hard to develop the commercial side of the business so that Weightmans is recognised as a leading, multi-disciplinary national law firm.”

Weightmans has enjoyed a number of highlights over the last twelve months, merging with Mace & Jones and acquiring the insurance division of Vizards Wyeth. The firm’s increased national reach and strength in depth was recognised in this year’s Legal 500, with Weightmans ranked in a record breaking 50 areas of law.

The British Legal Awards take place on 1 December 2011 and are hosted by Legal Week.
