How do I apply to Weightmans?
We have designed our recruitment process to be as straightforward
as possible. In the first instance, please e-mail your CV and a
covering letter to careers@weightmans.com, clearly stating on
your covering letter the role and location you are applying for and
your salary requirements.
If you are applying as a result of a vacancy you have seen
advertised on our website or elsewhere, we will match your skills,
experience and background to those required for that role and
contact you by telephone or e-mail to confirm the next step.
If you are applying on a speculative basis and there does appear
to be a suitable role available, we will contact you by phone or
e-mail to ask whether you wish to be considered for that role. If
there is not a suitable role available at that time, we will
contact you by e-mail or letter to acknowledge your
application.
If there is no suitable role available at the time of my
application, will you retain my details and automatically contact
me when a suitable role does become available?
Yes. If you are applying on a speculative basis and there is not a
suitable role available at that time, we will retain your details
on file for a period of six months and contact you by phone or
e-mail should an apparently suitable role become available to ask
whether you wish to be considered for that role. If you do not wish
us to retain your details on file, please let us know.
When will I receive a response to my
application?
It does depend on the circumstances,
although we will respond to all applications as quickly as
possible. We aim to respond to all applications within four
weeks.
Who should I contact if I have a recruitment query, or
require an update on my application?
Please contact the HR&D team..
What can I expect as an employee of
Weightmans?
Please read our employee profiles for an honest opinion of what it
is like to work for Weightmans.
Is there the opportunity to work part-time or flexible
working hours?
The short answer is yes. As one of very few law firms to offer
flexi-time as a benefit across the practice, all Partners and
employees have the ability to work flexible hours, subject to
core working hours and the needs of the practice. Formal part-time
arrangements will also be considered, and again will be subject to
the needs of the practice and the role that we are recruiting for.
If you wish to apply for a role and require part-time hours, please
clearly state on your covering letter the days and hours you are
available to work.
What if I am interested in more than one role, can I
apply for both?
Yes. If you are applying for more than one role at the same time,
please simply submit one application clearly stating on your
covering letter the roles you wish to be considered for. If you
have applied for a role previously and wish to apply for another
role at a later date, please submit a new application.
I am interested in a role advertised on your website but
I believe a recruitment agency may have already submitted my
details. What do I do?
Please contact the recruitment agency you believe may have already
submitted your details for that role. If they have not previously
submitted your details, or if they have but for a different role or
over three months ago, or if you no longer wish that recruitment
agency to represent you, please submit your application direct to
us.
