The potential criminal liability of company directors
In partnership with ICAEW, we will look at the potential exposure that company directors have to criminal law.
This event has now finished.
In partnership with ICAEW, we will look at the potential exposure that company directors have to criminal law, specifically around economic and financial crime, whilst undertaking their duties.
The session will cover trends developing in economic crime which impact on directors and officers, including economic crime offences such as fraud, bribery and money laundering, the new test for dishonesty, and directors’ duties ancillary to economic crime offences.
We will also consider new developments in economic crime circles such as “failure to prevent offences and defences”, deferred prosecution agreements, and the increase in private prosecutions, as well as a practical tips on dealing with economic crime issues when they arise to limit potential criminal liability for company directors.
