This event has now finished.

Over recent months we have seen a dramatic increase in compensation claims against sports clubs, arising from sexual, physical and racial abuse. Rather than allow these claims to follow the normal litigation process, many clubs are seizing control of the situation by setting up redress schemes. This seminar will look at the typical characteristics of such schemes, their benefits and their drawbacks, and explain why they are set to become a permanent fixture in the Safeguarding landscape.

Chris Webb-Jenkins is a partner specialising in Safeguarding. He has acted for National Governing Bodies, and for individual clubs, across several sports. He has recently been involved in the investigation into redress schemes conducted by the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA).
