Contempt: Drawing experience following Atwal will be delivered by Christian Du Cann, Barrister specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence at 39 Essex Chambers.

In a 2018 landmark judgment, Mr Atwal was found guilty of contempt of court for attempting to defraud Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust in respect of his claim for clinical negligence. He claimed more than £800,000 which was found to be a gross exaggeration and he was sentenced to 3 months in prison for contempt of court.
