Key Issues for Promoting Garden Communities and New Settlements
This event has now finished.
We are delighted to be hosting our highly topical 'Garden Cities' round-table event, discussing the key issues for promoting the new generation of garden communities and settlements.
The new Garden Cities initiative means that the Government is committed to supporting well-planned, well-designed, locally-led garden communities as an important element in tackling the housing crisis. Planning for new settlements presents its own challenges and opportunities and we will be tackling the key issues from our experience in delivering new settlements, including:-
- Land value capture and mechanisms to fund infrastructure;
- The importance of Masterplanning;
- Delivery options including new town corporations;
- Site assembly issue including recent and future changes to compulsory purchase;
- Stewardship issues.
We will also cover the evolving environmental agenda with the increasing focus on emissions and air quality, the biodiversity net gain agenda, and the continual development of the EIA framework.
This event is suitable for housebuilders and social housing providers who are keen to stay ahead of emerging issues surrounding the above topics.
After the talk, there will also be the opportunity to network with other leading lights in the industry.
