This event has now finished.

For local authorities and the public sector, predicting the near and medium term future remains impossible. With Brexit dominating the country's political agenda, public sector organisations remain expected to deliver ever higher standards on the budgets of a decade ago. Further reforms are arriving in motor claims and the final decision on discount rates will increase claim costs. Indeed, claims numbers are up for the first time in six years.

For care authorities, CN&GN v Poole has not yet spelt the end of social care claims. The Official Solicitor is by all accounts ‘confident’ and the social care claims will go on. Whether these will be both common law and HRA claims remains to be seen. However, there will be significant and expanded use of the HRA which, in turn, will reveal the full extent of its potential use to claimants’ solicitors. Finally, never forget IICSA - reports on Accountability & Reparations and Closed Schools are due in the autumn.

In these turbulent times, it is vital to stay ahead of developments. Accordingly, we are proud to present a seminar programme which will give delegates the edge they will need over the next 12 months.
