This event has now finished.

Join us after work for bite sized learning and drinks with your peers in the marketplace at our next Thirsty Thursday, presented by our Associate, Paul Lowe.

Paul will be discussing the challenges the construction industry and its insurers are facing following on from Grenfell, the collapse of Carillion and the BEIS consultations around greater regulation of construction in the UK.

Some of the key issues Paul will be addressing will include:

  1. The need for responsible capitalism in the Construction Industry following the Grenfell and Carillion debacles, with debate around whether greater regulation is the answer.
  2. The BEIS’s Consultation on retention payments in the construction industry and whether current commercial practices are fit for purpose.
  3. The BEIS’s Consultation concerning changes to the changes to Part 2 of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 and whether the current statutory regime supports a responsible industry.
