Two new Partners for Weightmans London
National law firm Weightmans has added two further lateral hires to its London office this month as it welcomes Kiran Sekhon and Lili Oliver.
Kiran (pictured left) joins the firm as Healthcare Partner from Capsticks, where she was Partner in the Clinical Law team for five years.
Over the past 17 years, Kiran has specialised in medical defence litigation advising NHS Resolution and NHS Trusts/bodies. She has also worked on behalf of the General Dental Council investigating dentist's conduct and preparing cases for hearing. Kiran has extensive experience in the management of high value, complex and sensitive clinical negligence litigation, predominantly involving neurological injury, including numerous cases with novel or sensitive issues and matters attracting media attention.
She is an experienced client partner for NHS Trust clients, conducting internal and external training whilst advising them on their most difficult, high profile and sensitive cases often involving novel points of law, death or catastrophic injury.
In her role as training principal, Kiran has lectured extensively on both medico legal and clinical risk management issues as well as trends in litigation and learning points for health and safety and was the course director of the Diploma in Clinical Risk and Claims Management.
Lili (pictured right) has been appointed as Partner in Weightmans’ Regulatory team. She joins the firm from Clyde and Co, where she was Head of Corporate Risk in the Safety, Health and Environmental department. Prior to Clyde and Co, Lili spent 13 years at DAC Beachcroft, where she was Partner and Head of Motor Prosecutions and Travel, Transport and Logistics, ranked by both Chambers UK and Legal 500 during her time there.
She is an expert criminal regulatory lawyer representing corporate bodies, their officers and other individuals subject to investigation and prosecution in relation to a full range of criminal and regulatory offences arising out of serious and fatal incidents.
The news comes following the firm’s announcement of Charles Boyne’s arrival at the firm’s EC3 office last month.
Tim Lang, Partner and Head of Weightmans’ London office said:
“Lili and Kiran are true leaders in their fields and great additions to our fast-growing London offering. We are so proud that we continue to attract such expert talent – our fantastic client base and reputation for solutions-driven service has seen us welcome almost 20 new Partners across the firm this year alone, and we are looking forward to continuing this momentum into next year.”
