National law firm Weightmans has been appointed to the Central Housing Investment Consortium’s (CHIC) legal services framework in a recent procurement exercise managed by specialist legal consultants, Kennedy Cater.
Formed in 2010 as a not for profit organisation, CHIC is a collective of local authorities and housing providers which has grown from a membership of seven founders to more than 90 members. Together, the members service over half a million social housing homes across the North West, Midlands, South and South Wales.
The CHIC framework will last for four years, and is broken down into three lots, of which Weightmans will be providing expert legal advice on two; Property Litigation, and Property Development.
Sian Evans, Partner and Head of Social Housing at Weightmans said:
"For over twenty years we have supported housing providers and local authorities in ensuring they can provide the best service to their residents. We are delighted to have this commitment recognised in our appointment to the CHIC framework, which will place us at the centre of housing management, development, regeneration and protection. We look forward to working with our partner firms and the members of CHIC moving forward."
