Weightmans celebrates Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 performance

Weightmans celebrates record number of lawyers ranked in this year’s legal directories.

National law firm Weightmans is celebrating a new record number of lawyers ranked in this year’s legal directories, with 380 experts listed in the new editions of the UK’s leading legal directories Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 – 17 more than in 2020.

The firm has been recommended as a top-tier firm in 22 practice areas across the two directories, and is listed across 116 areas altogether.

Of the areas in which Weightmans ranks, 13 are higher rankings than previous years, with four entirely new rankings including Transport: Logistics and the Private Wealth Law team based in Manchester.

In the Legal 500, 34 lawyers have been included in the elite ‘leading lawyers’ listing – a 31% increase; six have been named as ‘next generation partners’, and a further 17 have received rising star status, a 41% increase compared with 2020. In total, 153 of our lawyers are mentioned by name and we have 15 top tier rankings.

In Chambers & Partners, nine Weightmans lawyers are ranked in the highest Band 1, as well as one star associate, three associates to watch, one senior statesperson and one eminent practitioner.

Managing Partner John Schorah said: “The last 18 months have certainly been challenging for everyone – making this raft of results even more heartening. It’s testament to the hard work, talent and resilience of our people that we have outstripped 2020’s already-fantastic rankings to receive these latest accolades.

“We’re constantly striving to improve and deliver the best possible service for our clients. Seeing the impact of this translate into feedback from the legal directories is invaluable to us as we benchmark our progress.”

The Legal 500 is widely regarded ‘as offering one of the most comprehensive and definitive reviews of law firms worldwide’ and Chambers & Partners Guide UK is recognised as ‘the most widely-used directory within the legal sector’.
