Weightmans furthers counter fraud offering with new Intelligence Manager

National law firm Weightmans has welcomed Toby Morse as its new Intelligence Manager.

Toby joins Weightmans from Co-op Insurance, where he worked for over 20 years and most recently held the position of Claims Intelligence Manager. Whilst at the Co-op, Toby was successful in building the intelligence and wider counter fraud team which had a great reputation both internally and within the industry for quality and collaboration.

Toby will lead Weightmans’ fast growing intelligence team, as well as being the key liaison for external counter fraud agencies.

He will support the firm’s extensive fraud offering in the Insurance, Local Authority and Corporate sectors working with the Motor, Casualty, Disease, Home and Healthcare claims teams.

The firm’s Detect, Deliver and Deterrent (3D) approach, which is applied across all claims teams, has delivered some of the most important counter fraud judgments and huge savings for clients is recent years. None of this could have been achieved without the support of the firm’s dedicated intelligence team.

Toby said:

“Weightmans has an excellent reputation for the quality of its intelligence and counter fraud products. This role is an excellent opportunity to make use of my skills and experience with a firm who are well known both as a top employer and for the services which they deliver to clients.”

Rob Williams, Partner and Head of Insurance at Weightmans added:

“We are pleased to have helped our clients fight fraud for decades, and we are proud of our people who have developed new techniques and utilised technology to successfully detect fraud, defeat the claims once uncovered and deter those who perpetrate it.
“Intelligence forms the backbone of our success in the counter fraud arena – it helps us to tailor our approach, informs future working and detect patterns in our operations, limiting expense and maximising results.
“Toby’s arrival further solidifies this approach; his expertise and insight honed over 20 years in the field ensures we stay alive to new trends and challenges, working collaboratively with counter fraud agencies and our clients to achieve the best outcomes possible.”
