Weightmans’ Managing Partner elected for third term

National law firm Weightmans has confirmed John Schorah will serve a third term as its Managing Partner.

John became Weightmans' Managing Partner in 2013 and was re-elected for the second time in 2015. This week, the firm’s equity John Schorahpartnership voted for him to serve for a third term, which will run until April 2022.

Formally CEO of a listed public company in the entertainment industry, John joined Weightmans in 2003 and was the firm’s Commercial Director for six years, overseeing 300% growth in the commercial business during that time.

During eleven years on Weightmans' board, he has overseen numerous firm acquisitions, the opening of new offices, overhauled the partnership remuneration structure and steered the firm through unprecedented technological advancement, seeing the firm's overall revenue more than double; from £43.8m to almost £100m.

John said:

Consistently accredited both in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK as a leading individual in corporate work, clients have quoted John as having a ‘pragmatic and commercially realistic approach’, and noted his ‘extensive experience of corporate transactional and corporate structures work’.
