Biography

Hayley qualified as a solicitor in 2015 and joined the regulatory team at Weightmans in November 2019. Prior to joining Weightmans, Hayley worked in-house for two local authorities representing clients in a full spectrum of child protection matters and advising at fostering panel.

Hayley has excellent knowledge and understanding of the 'real' child protection landscape, including parameters of good practice, social work demands and budgetary restraints. As well as the 'usual' childcare cases, Hayley has had notable success in advising clients on complex and technical points of law relating to non-accidental injury and cases with a foreign element. She provides advice and assistance on:

Hayley also has knowledge in respect of Education cases for Local Authorities and academies in respect of school complaints, exclusions, discrimination claims, Special Educational Needs appeals and reviews.
