Jo-Anne qualified as a solicitor in October 2009 joining Weightmans as an assistant solicitor in January 2013. She was promoted to associate in 2015. Her work is a mixture of clinical negligence and EL/PL claims. She regularly handles complex psychiatric injury claims often involving allegations of bullying and harassment or patient assaults on other patients / members of the public. She has successfully defended a bullying/harassment claim at trial.
Her clinical negligence work is predominantly multi-track litigated and non-litigated claims. These include failure to diagnose/delay in diagnosis, misdiagnosis, failure to provide informed consent, negligence during surgery, failure to provide informed consent, failure to treat and wrong treatment. She also has experience in a wide range of medical conditions and significant experience in fatal claims. She has handled a number of birth injury / stillbirth claims.
She regularly advises on and represents clinicians at inquests, and she then deals with any clinical negligence claim pursued by the family.
She has experience in managing high value and complex cases including birth and brain injury claims. She has handled a number of failure and/or delay in diagnosing cancer claims and regularly handles claims worth in excess of £1,000,000.
