Weightmans features in esteemed Times Best Law Firms 2024 list

Weightmans has been named in The Times Best Law Firms 2024 list for the sixth year running.

Weightmans has been ranked in The Times Best Law Firms 2024 list in recognition of its excellence in family, inheritance and succession planning/private client, personal injury and clinical negligence.

Now in its sixth year, the annual list celebrates the very best in business, public and private-client law based on recommendations from legal professionals across the UK.

The rankings cover 28 practice areas in total and identify the top 250 practices in England and Wales plus the top 20 firms in Scotland.

Weightmans’ listing cites the firm’s most recent work, including it advising the Chief Operating Officer for Bank of America Daire Browne, in the international estate of his late aunt, the famous crossword creator, Nuala Considine; and being instructed by artist and illustrator Ralph Steadman, best known for his collaboration with Hunter S. Thompson on Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, in an ongoing case regarding copyright infringement of his artwork.

It also acknowledges the firm’s role in representing one of the principal organisations throughout the Infected Blood Public Inquiry, plus its reappointment to all panel lots following the NHS Resolution legal panel review, including clinical claims for NHS trusts and primary practice.

Managing Partner, John Schorah said: “This is a fantastic result for the firm, especially for the practice areas and individuals who worked on the cases cited by The Times. What makes this listing particularly important is the fact that it is voted for by our peers within the sector.

“I want to thank all our people and their ongoing contribution in providing the absolute best experience for our clients. Without that, we would not be considered for accolades such as this.”

Weightmans’ place in The Times ranking comes in the same week that the firm achieved a new record number of lawyers ranked in this year’s leading legal directories.

In the latest editions of the Chambers & Partners UK and Legal 500 legal directories, the firm has 453 of its experts listed, and has also been recommended as a top-tier firm in 24 practice areas across the two and is listed across 146 areas altogether.
