Weightmans appointed to NHS Resolution new Legal Framework panels

Weightmans has been reappointed by NHS Resolution to its two new Legal Framework panels for the next three years.

National law firm Weightmans has been appointed to two three-year Legal Framework panels by NHS Resolution, covering claims and regulatory, health and employment law.

From 1 March 2022, Weightmans will provide services relating to clinical and non-clinical liabilities, and complex, health-related issues.

The first panel will provide support to NHS Resolution to manage claims under clinical and non-clinical indemnity schemes for NHS members and beneficiaries across hospital trusts, GP practices, independent sector providers and in support of healthcare arrangements put in place to respond to coronavirus.

The second panel will provide specialist legal advice to NHS Resolution and other arm’s length bodies of the Department of Health and Social Care, covering a complex portfolio of health-related issues.

The new Legal Framework panel replaces a previous NHS Resolution panel for legal services awarded in 2017 – which also featured Weightmans on each of its three lots.

Rachel Kneale, partner at Weightmans, commented: “We are honoured to have been appointed by NHS Resolution to provide this crucial work across both their Legal Framework panels.

“We’ve been supporting NHS Resolution with legal services for a number of years and are pleased to be able to continue offering comprehensive and competitive services to them – working together to ensure our vital NHS staff receive the legal support they need, particularly during this challenging time for the profession.”
