Weightmans releases positive trainee retention figures

National law firm Weightmans has retained 84% of its trainees who commenced their training contract in 2018 as newly-qualified solicitors.

National law firm Weightmans has retained 84% of its trainees who commenced their training contract in 2018 as newly-qualified solicitors.

The solicitors will sit in a variety of departments across the firm, including Real Estate, Healthcare and Claims.

Andrew Cox is Partner and as Training Principal manages the trainee programme at Weightmans. He said:

"In these incredibly challenging times we are pleased to have welcomed such a high number of great newly qualified lawyers to remain with us at Weightmans, and that our retention rate has remained steady and consistent with previous years.

"We are proud of our graduate development and training programme, and are excited by the future as we work on new opportunities for the recruitment and progression of the next generation of legal professionals.

"I’d like to congratulate all of our trainees on successfully completing their training contracts, particularly in what has been an unprecedented time for us all. We have no doubt that our new lawyers will make valuable contributions both to Weightmans and the wider industry and hope they enjoy long and successful careers with us."

Weightmans will also welcome 17 new trainee solicitors to the firm who will begin their training contracts this month.
