Weightmans to merge with Mace & Jones

Weightmans and Mace & Jones have agreed terms to merge, the two firms announced today.

The merger, which will become effective on 1 May 2011, will further strengthen Weightmans’ position as a major national law firm.  The merged firm will have over 1000 people and a combined fee income in excess of approx £75 million.

In the North West alone the firm will have over 770 people.

Commenting on the merger, Patrick Gaul, Managing Partner at Weightmans said:

The Mace & Jones merger continues Weightmans’ ongoing expansion.  The firm will also be acquiring the insurance practice of Vizards Wyeth on 1 April 2011.
