Caroline Smith

Caroline Smith is a Partner in our Glasgow Family Law team.

Caroline is a highly personable and approachable solicitor with 30 years experience helping family law clients. She offers sound, technically robust advice and is often seen adopting a creative approach to resolving differences between separating couples. She deals with divorces, separations, financial issues, residence and contact matters, cohabitation agreements, prenups, surrogacy and parental orders - and just about all other matters relating to family law! Clients feel they have a lawyer who listens, who takes on board their interests and needs, and then works hard to achieve practical solutions. Clients are particularly impressed by her forensic skills and attention to detail whilst still being able to empathise.

Caroline is also an accomplished mediator with over 14 years experience and often applies those skills to the rest of her practice. She is on the CALM mediation committee and acts as Treasurer. She is trained in child-inclusive mediation. She is also a member of the Family Law Association, Consensus Scotland (collaborative law) and sits on the Law Society accreditation panel for Fertility Law and Family Creation. She is a regular contributor to internal and external publications and often delivers and hosts seminars on various family law matters.
