Biography

Cat is a Partner in our employment, pensions and immigration team based in our Leeds office. She is a pensions law adviser who acts for a wide range of clients including: universities, colleges, academy trusts, independent schools, research institutions, charities, social housing organisations, councils in their capacity as both employer and administering authorities of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), private sector defined benefit pension scheme trustees, police authorities, fire authorities, industry bodies and corporates.

Cat has experience of advising on pension arrangements including the LGPS, Police Pension Scheme, Firefighters’ Pension Scheme, Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme, NHS Pension Scheme, Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS), the Universities Superannuation Scheme, the Students' Union Superannuation Scheme, the Social Housing Pension Scheme, defined benefit private sector trusts and defined contribution pension schemes. She also has experience acting in relation to death in service schemes.

Additionally, Cat has experience of advising on the pensions aspects of mergers, acquisitions and restructurings of companies and other entities, outsourcing projects, advising on pensions rights, pension scheme change, drafting and negotiating contracts and deeds. She also has experience of public sector pensions governance having co-written the LGPS, Fire and Police Scheme Advisory Board guidance on public sector pensions boards. Further to this, Cat also advises the Firefighters' Pension Scheme Advisory Board.

Cat is a regular speaking at industry events including the UCEA Conference, TPS Conference and LGPS Conferences and has written and presented training packages for clients and intermediaries.
