Dan is a Principal Associate in our commercial litigation team. Dan is based in our London office and was previously based in our Liverpool office.

Dan specialises in commercial disputes and regularly acts for a broad range of clients including private individuals and their families, large national corporations, owner-managed businesses, sports governing bodies, local authorities and universities. Dan also regularly works closely with insurers and claims intermediaries. 

Dan has helped his clients achieve successful outcomes in a broad range of disputes including contractual disputes, Companies Act matters (acting for directors and shareholders), complex debt recovery, disputes arising from the carriage and storage of goods, and disputes arising from trusts and estates. Notable experience includes:

•    Acting for the shareholders of a large corporation in a claim against former directors concerning alleged wrongful appropriation of company funds
•    Acting for the defendant company in a complex contractual dispute arising from the transport and storage of art
•    Acting for several members of a family and their companies in a complex wills, trusts and estates dispute, with a successful outcome at trial
•    Bringing and defending various breach of contract and debt recovery claims
•    Successfully negotiating settlements to disputes through various methods of alternative dispute resolution, including several mediations

Dan also works closely with our sports litigation team on claims against national sports governing bodies and is a part of Weightmans’ marine law team, acting predominantly on contentious matters for ship operator, logistics and insurer clients, cargo and charterparty issues, and in sale and purchase transactions. 

Dan is a member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association.
