Jawaid joined Weightmans in 2007 and is the head of our HR Rely service and a partner in the employment, pensions and immigration team. He is also the Regional Office Head in Birmingham. He specialises in equal pay, implementing pay schemes and advising on major restructuring projects. He also specialises in advising Embassies on matters of diplomatic and state immunity and has considerable international experience in this regard. He works closely with leading silks in this area.

Jawaid has certain clients for which he manages projects that involve multidisciplinary legal issues. He is responsible for being the point of contact for the client and ensuring that the most appropriate legal expertise is deployed (from real estate and finance lawyers to regulatory and commercial) in the most cost-effective manner. He effectively acts as their in-house counsel, working in total partnership with the client's internal team.

Jawaid also advises clients on a more strategic level at project boards at the cutting edge of decision making. He has had many articles published in leading publications such as The Times and People Management.
