Jon joined Weightmans in 2005 and is a Partner in the employment, pensions and immigration team in Liverpool.
He specialises in high value, complex respondent employment tribunal litigation and leads the team acting for Royal Mail Group Ltd.
Jon has broad experience in both non-contentious and contentious employment law advice. He provides policy and operational advice to FTSE 100 clients on a range of issues, including diversity, sickness absence management, performance and capability, misconduct and contractual issues.
He is an experienced Employment Tribunal advocate and regularly undertakes advocacy at Employment Tribunals and has also appeared at the Employment Appeal Tribunal.
Jon also carries out a Product and Innovation Partner role for our corporate clients; sitting at the intersection of the client, legal operations and innovation sectors and using his experience to help evolve and develop market-leading and technology-driven solutions for both clients and also our legal teams. In 2022 a disability discrimination decision-making tool designed and implemented in collaboration with Royal Mail was shortlisted and came as a runner-up in the Managing Partner Forum Awards for Best People Initiative.
Jon is a regular trainer at both Weightmans' legal seminars and also in-house training sessions for clients. He has also had articles published in the legal and HR press.
He is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
